Tiwi elementary school receives another Silid Pangarap

AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) turned over AGAPP “Silid Pangarap” kindergarten school building, complete with furnitures and reading materials to Cale Elementary School, Barangay Cale, Tiwi, Albay last February 22.The AGAPP Silid Pangarap will benefit 145 kindergarten pupils, providing them a conducive learning environment. It also advocates literacy, early childhood care and development in support of the Department of Education’s K to 12 Program.This initiative to help improve the public education system in Tiwi, Albay was made possible through the partnership among AboitizPower subsidiary APRI, Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., AGAPP (Aklat, Gabay, Aruga tungo sa Pag-angat at Pag-asa) Foundation, and the LGU of Tiwi in Albay.DepEd Albay Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Fatima Buen and Cale Elementary School Principal Matheu Lucena expressed their gratitude to APRI, Aboitiz Foundation, and AGAPP Foundation. “Abot kamay ang mga pangarap ng mga batang ito sapagkat may mga Foundation na tumutulong para patuloy na makamit ang pangarap at hindi maging hadlang ang kahirapan. We’re thankful to our friends and partners from private and government sector. Together, we can live and build a better nation and we can make difference,” shared Ms. Buen during the ceremonial turnover.To date, APRI has already provided ten two-classroom Silid Pangarap school buildings in the Municipalities of Sto. Tomas in Batangas, Bay and Calauan in Laguna, and Tiwi in Albay, Bicol Region.Beneficiary schools in Tiwi, Albay since 2011

are Nagas Elementary School, Libtong Elementary School, Tiwi Central School, Cararayan-Naga Elementary School, and Cale Elementary School.In addition to the growing AGAPP community of AboitizPower, another Silid Pangarap classroom building in Joroan Elementary School is set to be completed by May 2016, and will fully accommodate and nurture kindergarten pupils in the SY. 2016-2017.
