Aboitiz Cleanergy Park

Along the coastline of Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City, is the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park. This eight-hectare biodiversity conservation site and ecological preserve is managed by AboitizPower’s subsidiary, Davao Light, and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. It serves as a model of habitat conservation and biodiversity management in an urban setting.

Launched in 2014, the conservation sanctuary houses a turtle habitat, mangrove and coastal forest, and a rich coral reef surrounded by a 37-hectare Marine Protected Area (MPA). Through proper biodiversity conservation management practices, the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park has become a haven for almost 100 endemic migratory bird types, marine wildlife, and critically endangered pawikan species like the Green Sea turtle, Olive Ridley turtle, and Hawksbill turtle.

This project is a collaborative endeavor between the Aboitiz Group, Davao City local government, Barangay Matina Aplaya, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Biodiversity Management Bureau (formerly PAWB), University of the Philippines, University of Southeastern Philippines, Aboitiz Group team members, and individuals who share our vision of creating a positive impact by preserving our environment.
