AboitizPower to construct 30-MW BESS project in Mactan Economic Zone
Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), through its Therma Power, Inc.’s wholly-owned subsidiary East Asia Utilities Corporation (EAUC), is set to break ground for its 30-megawatt (MW) hybrid Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project within the Mactan Economic Zone, marking a strategic move to support grid stability in the fast-growing Visayas region.
AboitizPower leverages A.I. and tech in clean power generation
Aboitiz Renewables Inc., the renewable energy arm of AboitizPower, has adopted artificial intelligence (A.I.) and other technologies to shield vital infrastructure against natural hazards and ensure reliable operations. Digital twins, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), and Light Detection and Ranging or LiDAR are used to create a dynamic virtual replica of the terrain wherein a facility is situated.
Therma Visayas, Inc. recognized for marine conservation efforts in Tañon Strait
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) recognized the conservation efforts of its local affiliate, together with Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI), in helping protect the Tañon Strait in Cebu.
