Home Newsroom AP Renewables Inc.APRI conducts ER 1-94 clinic, empowers project implementors to access ER funds
February 18, 2025
AP Renewables Inc. (APRI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Abotiz Renewables Inc. (ARI), the renewable arm of AboitizPower, conducted an information drive for all the beneficiaries of its ER 1-94 Fund last February 11 at the APRI-Tiwi Admin Building.
The 40 attendees of the information campaign included leaders and representatives from APRI’s 16 host barangays, the municipality of Tiwi, the Provincial Government of Albay, Region V’s Regional Development Council (RDC), and the Albay Electric Cooperative (ALECO). The activity aimed to help beneficiaries easily access the ER funds by understanding the program’s key components, processes, and FAQs. It also informed attendees of the latest circulars from the Department of Energy (DOE), including the submission timeline for the Annual Work Plan (AWP).
Instead of a plain discussion, the APRI Reputation Management Team kicked off the session through a quiz competition. The team implemented a point system, where the winning team takes home a simple token of appreciation.
“Natutuwa ako sa mga pakulo ng APRI. Habang nalilibang ako ay aking natutunan na hindi maaaring kumuha ng pondo galing sa DLF kung ang iyong proyekto ay under RWMHEEF maliban na lang kung ito ay “properly justfied’ kagaya na lamang ng ‘water system project’ ng LGU Tiwi", said Brgy. Captain Roger Canted of Cararayan.
The activity also clarified some misconceptions about the program.
APRI Reputation Supervisor Jocelyn Binalla cleared that the unutilized ER funds (due to the pending liquidation of the LGU’s past projects) are accumulated in the bank and can still be accessed once the necessary requirements have been compiled.
“We, in APRI, ensure that our communities benefit from this program. We are not only here to comply with the Philippine government but we are here to help you”, said APRI Reputation Manager Wendy Bautista.
“As we aim to expand our renewable energy assets, we will be truthful to our promise of advancing business and communities. Imagine the positive impact it can have on the lives of many people, most especially the young ones. We just need to work together and find strategies on how we can maximize these funds,” said APRI Vice President for Corporate Services Leonardo Robel, Jr.
During the discussion, ALECO representative Marivic Ranara announced that their office is open for project collaboration with the Tiwinions for the proposed electrification project.
The ER 1-94 was enacted to ensure that power-generating companies such as APRI will donate 1 centavo per kilowatt hour of electricity to its host communities. These millions in funds can support several programs under the Development and Livelihood, Electrification, and Reforestation, Watershed Management, and Health and Environmental Enhancement.
Before the second quarter ends, APRI will soon introduce Project Aurish–an automated website where local implementors can access information about their ER funds 24/7.
