Cebu Private Power Corp. donates medical, dental equipment to Cebu City barangay

CEBU Private Power Corp. (CPPC) donated almost half a million pesos worth of medical and dental equipment to officials and health workers of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City last Nov. 22.

CPPC, which operates a 70-MW (megawatt) bunker-fired power plant in Ermita, also distributed hygiene kits to 321 residents.

Ermita Barangay Captain Felicisimo Rupinta thanked CPPC for its continued support to the village and its residents. He said that the donation is a great help to the barangay whose services include improving the health of its residents.

Ermita is one of Cebu City’s densely populated urban barangays with a population of more than 8,400 persons as of the 2015 census. Ermita is also a trade center as it houses the Carbon Public Market Complex and other commercial establishments.

Engr. Noel Cabahug, AVP Operations of CPPC, said that the company will continue to fulfill its responsibility as a responsible neighbor by helping the local government’s programs in health, safety, environmental protection and education.

Earlier this year, CPPC turned over firefighting equipment, including a fire hydrant, to Barangay Ermita officials and organized basic firefighting and rescue training for the youth in the village.
