May 12, 2016

HOST COMMUNITIES AND LGUs of AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, Bay and Calauan, Laguna, and Tiwi, Albay, together with the provincial officers and other key partners attended its Stakeholders’ Meeting about the company and community updates, CSR programs, health and environmental initiatives, and ER 1-94 plans for 2016.

APRI held its first quarterly Stakeholders’ Meeting with the key partners of Tiwi at the Concourse Convention, Tabaco City last March 17, and with the stakeholders of MakBan at the NDN Grand Hotel, Sto. Tomas, Batangas on March 3.

With the importance of the current national El Niño concerns in the PH, APRI branded the meeting with the theme “Ready Ka Na Ba”, where the invited keynote speakers, Department Head Dr. Cedric D. Daep of Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (Tiwi batch), and Weather Philippines Foundation Senior Meteorologist Leonilo Millanes (MakBan batch), discussed some precautionary measures during El Niño and empowering tip for the communities to become more resilient to such phenomenon.

“We are ready for the El Niño. This event organized by APRI is an opportunity for us community leaders to be aware of this phenomenon and learn tips that we can share with our community, so we will be able to ensure successful implementation of the CSR programs in our areas,” shared one of the LGU official attendees.

To mitigate the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, stakeholders shared their own water conservation tips such as repairing damaged faucets at home immediately, scheduling the use of water, and saving waste water and use for gardening.

This year, APRI allotted around Php 23 million budget for various CSR programs to its host communities in Batangas, Laguna, and Tiwi, in addition to the ER 1-94 fund and other direct initiatives. All these to help steer its commitment of social responsibility and building good corporate citizenship.
