Home Newsroom Corporate Social ResponsibilityTPVI teams up with LGU, community for service caravan
October 15, 2019
More than 1,000 residents availed of medical services from the City Government of Naga at a caravan organized through the help of Therma Power Visayas, Inc. (TPVI) for their host beneficiaries in Barangay Colon last month.
On September 26, 2019, TPVI helped its partners provide medical consultation and dental services as well as free medicines for the beneficiaries.
“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the partnership and the continuous support to the LGU’s health programs. The medicines donated will benefit a lot of Nagahanons who cannot afford basi healthcare and medicine,” Colon Barangay Councilor Lisa Banuag, chairperson of the committee on health, said.
The local government unit also brought to the barangay its various services, including the issuance of business and building permits, late registration of birth certificates, anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and cats, free haircut and massage, anti-drug and solid waste management symposia, and sessions on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) as well as on traffic rules and regulations, among others.
“It has always been our mission to provide our communities with every bit of support they need, strengthening relationships and trust between TPVI and its host barangay,” AboitizPower Oil Business Unit Reputation Manager Ardy Co said.
While TPVI has been hard at work with rehabilitating the power plant complex, which it formally took over in July last year, it has also been supporting its host community of Colon. So far, the organization has participated in Brigada Eskwela efforts, coastal cleanup initiatives, as well as the city’s Arbor Day tree planting activity, among others.
TPVI is part of the AP Oil BU, which manages and operates the oil-fired power generation assets of Aboitiz Power Corporation. Its other facilities, which include those run by Therma Marine, Inc. (TMI) in Maco, Compostela Valley and Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, as well as power plants operated by Cebu Private Power Corporation (CPPC) and East Asia Utilities (EAUC) in Cebu, are ready to provide peaking capacity in Visayas and Mindanao whenever necessary.
