Aside from its promise of providing much needed power to Mindanao, Therma South, Inc. (TSI) is also brightening the future of students by opening its first college scholarship program.

Through the partnership of Aboitiz Foundation and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP), a total of eight deserving college students are now enjoying the benefits of this full scholarship.

“TSI is very proud to have finally rolled out our educational assistance to well-deserving students from our host communities. This was among the commitments we made before starting this project and we are happy that with the support of the Aboitiz Foundation, we have delivered this commitment,” said TSI President and COO Bejnamin Cariaso, Jr.

The eight scholars hailing from TSI’s host communities in Barangay Binugao, Toril in Davao City and Barangay Inawayan in the Municipality of Sta. Cruz are aspiring to be mechanical and electrical engineers.

“Education is the best weapon to change the world. We greatly thank TSI for giving our families and us this early Christmas gift as a way of helping us attain a brighter future,” shared freshman Katherine Anne Franco, a BS Electrical Engineering.

AboitizPower remains true to its commitment of social responsibility and building corporate citizenship by continuously supporting the educational pursuits of the children of its host communities and providing them hope for a better future. Moreover, its education, environment, health & well-being, and enterprise development programs are geared towards the improvement of the lives of the Filipino nation.
