APRI lauded for environmental management practice

AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) conferred as “Best Management Practice on Clustering” by the Department of Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) in the 2015 National Multipartite Monitoring Team Convention at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Lahug, Cebu City last November 18, 2015.

The award was presented to APRI for its harmonious partnership with other organizations, efficient implementation of system operations and environmental programs, and effective membership and records management.  

The Multipartite Monitoring Team (MMT) of APRI Tiwi Geothermal Power Plant was established last 2010 in conformance with the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) issued by the DENR.

Currently, APRI Tiwi MMT is composed of the Barangay Captains in Tiwi, DENR Officers, Chevron representatives, and NGO officials, working together to regularly monitor the environmental performance of the plant, including tree planting, river cleanup drive, and waste management practices.
