AboitizPower wholly-owned subsidiary Therma South, Inc. (TSI) conducted Friendship Building, a culmination of the Renovation and Expansion of the Tribal Hall project for the Matigsalug Concil of Elders, Marilog, Davao City, Inc. (MACOEMADDACI) on March 13, 2015.The project covered the renovation and expansion of the dilapidated tribal hall of the MACOEMADDACI into a multi-purpose hall, equipped with some basic furniture and fixture and installation of solar-powered battery system.MACOEMADDACI is the partner organization of TSI on the 2nd year implementation of its 10-year Carbon Sink Management Program (CSMP).The tribal hall is an important facility for the Matigsalug tribe as this is where the council meetings, cultural practices, capacity building trainings and workshops, and consultations are usually conducted. It will also serve as a venue for the validation meetings, tribal weddings, and other rituals.MACOEMADDACI President Datu Juanito Mandahay shared, “We are extremely grateful for the kindness and generosity of TSI and the Aboitiz Foundation in supporting our tribe’s cultural preservation and environmental protection cause.
