DepEd recognizes AboitizPower as education partner

The Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) acknowledges AboitizPower’s Thermal Business Group as among the country’s partners in advancing the education of young Filipinos. In 2023, the company funded 10 education projects that were implemented in Luzon through Therma Luzon and Therma Mobile; Visayas through Therma Power Visayas and Therma Visayas; and Mindanao through Therma Marine and Therma South. This year, AboitizPower allocated P6.2 million to support 14 programs, including providing scholarships to 80 high school students. In an event at the GSIS Theater in Pasay City, (L-R) Philippine Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte (1st) gave plaques of appreciation to AboitizPower representatives Lou Jason Deligencia (2nd), Atty. Alona Suzell Ruyeras-Borromeo (3rd), and Steven Getes (4th). AboitizPower distribution utilities Visayan Electric and Davao Light were also commended in the event.
