AboitizPower unit does clean-up drive in Balili River

AboitizPower unit does clean-up drive in Balili River. Team members of Hedcor, the run-of-river hydropower arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), collected 61 kilograms of plastic bottles and other waste in the Balili River in La Trinidad, Benguet. The Balili River supports the operations of Hedcor’s 20.4-megawatt La Trinidad hydro plant, making the river’s consistent and unimpeded water flow crucial to the generation of clean power. From 2011 to date, 10 clean-up activities have been conducted by Hedcor in the Balili River, collecting an estimated total of 5,257 kilograms of waste. In total, across various rivers and creeks where Hedcor operates in Baguio, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, and Mountain Province, approximately 9,322 kilograms of garbage have been collected in clean-up activities since 2011, done together with local government units, national government agencies, NGOs, the academe, and other organizations. The Hedcor Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AboitizPower through Aboitiz Renewables Inc., operates 22 run-of-river hydropower facilities across the Philippines.
