Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) and its partners have allocated P62-billion in capital expenditures for 2026, with priority focus on its pipeline of renewable energy capacities and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
“We continue to deploy capital strategically to accelerate our portfolio transition while maintaining grid reliability through our Transition and Distribution business groups,” said AboitizPower President and CEO Danel Aboitiz in the Company’s President’s Report.
AboitizPower’s renewable energy pipeline includes 639.5-megawatts worth of projects awarded through the fourth round of the Green Energy Auction last September, as well as 147 megawatts of renewable energy and BESS capacities currently under construction.
From less than a gigawatt of attributable net sellable renewable energy capacity in 2020, AboitizPower doubled it to 2.3 gigawatts as of February 2026. This includes the recent acquisition of the 789-megawatt Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan Hydroelectric Power Plant (CBK HEPP) Complex in Laguna via a consortium led by Aboitiz Renewables, Inc., the renewable energy arm of AboitizPower.
Meanwhile, key energy projects under AboitizPower’s Transition Business Group are also underway, including the 30-megawatt EAUC hybrid BESS in Mactan, Cebu and the 48-megawatt TMI hybrid BESS in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.
In 2025, AboitizPower and its partners deployed a total of P117.7-billion in capital investments, which includes funding for the Company’s 40% equity interest in Chromite Gas Holdings, Inc., its 64% stake in CBK HEPP, and its greenfield renewable energy pipeline.
According to data from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), AboitizPower is the market leader in power generation capacity, with a national market share of 23.86% as of July 2025. Together with its partners, AboitizPower offers the largest renewable energy portfolios in the Philippines based on installed capacity under its operational control.
For the full year 2025, AboitizPower generated P79.6-billion in beneficial EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization), a 9% increase from P73.3-billion in 2024. This was driven by fresh contributions from Chromite Gas Holdings; the delivery of new solar plants, namely the 159-megawatt-peak (MWp) Laoag, the 47-MWp Armenia, and the 173-MWp Calatrava projects; and the increase in contracted capacity in the second half of the year. Its 2025 core net income amounted to P33.1-billion.
AboitizPower continues to develop and diversify its power generation portfolio in support of the Philippines’ ambition of having a 35% and 50% share of renewable energy in its power generation mix by 2030 and 2040, respectively.
