The team of Davao Light and Power Co. led by Community Relations Department Manager Fermin Edillon (5th from left) hands over the 267 hygiene kits to the fire victims during the relief operations in one of the three affected barangays in Davao City.
Davao Light and Power Co. recently handed over hygiene kits through the City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) to around 200 families affected by fire incident, which occurred in three barangays within Davao City.

Since the fire victicms are homeless and are temporarily housed together in one area, it is highly possible that illnesses and diseases could be spread and passed on. Thus, Davao Light deemed the importance of providing hygiene kits to them.“Aside from the usual food packs and clothing given to fire victims, it is also important to promote good basic personal hygiene and proper handwashing through these hygiene kits. Also, as an electric distribution utility, we have continuously been promoting public electrical safety to avoid incidents like this from happening.” said Fermin Edillon, Davao Light's Community Relations Manager.Present during the turn over aside from the Davao Light team were the CSSDO Department Head Maria Luisa Bermudo, Brgy. Bucana Purok Leader Isabelita Aguilar and the affected families.
