The Davao City Council through first district councilor Pilar C. Braga, invited AboitizPower subsidiary, Therma South, Inc. (TSI) to talk about its Energy Education Center (EEC) housed inside the 300-megawatt Davao baseload plant in Binugao, Toril Davao City.
In her privilege speech, councilor Braga recognized AboitizPower’s ongoing initiatives in offering experiential learning opportunities to the public through Therma South’s energy education center.
Therma South's manager for reputation and stakeholder management Jason Magnaye presented to the members of the city council updates on the EEC and its role in educating the public on the concepts and principles of electric power generation during the city council’s regular session on Tuesday, February 6. Magnaye also invited the members of the council as well as the public to visit the education facility.
Since the center’s inauguration in 2016, it has already accommodated 88 plant tours with about 1,350 guests coming from various sectors in the region. The EEC is a partnership project of AboitizPower and Aboitiz Foundation.
