Over 80 members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from Brgy. San Vicente, Sto. Tomas, Batangas and their families got to know more about clean and renewable energy during their recent visit to the Cleanergy Center in Makban, Laguna.
The tour, which was hosted by AP Renewables Inc. (APRI), raised the visitors’ awareness of the importance of renewable energy.
“Our free educational tours are hinged on our commitment to co-creating communities that are safe, empowered and sustainable,” said APRI president and COO Felino Bernardo.
According to APRI’s Cleanergy Center Specialist Kim Terbio, “While our visitors live near our power plant, most of them are not yet aware of APRI.” She added, “We are glad that our guests enjoyed their learning, especially through the center’s interactive displays.”
The tour also provided a glimpse of the various corporate social responsibility programs of APRI, which includes scholarship offerings that community members may avail of.
“Ang dami naming natutunan dito sa Cleanergy Center at nag-enjoy kaming lahat lalung-lalo na ang mga bata. Ngayon, mas nauunawaan na namin kung para saan ang mga tubo dito sa aming lugar at kung paano nagagawa ang kuryente mula sa singaw o malinis na usok mula sa lupa,” said 4Ps leader of Brgy. San Vicente Delcy E. Abellar.
Since it opened in 2013, the Cleanergy Center has already welcomed over 30,000 local and international visitors.
APRI is a wholly owned subsidiary of AboitizPower.
