March 14, 2018
As support continues to pour in for ongoing efforts to rebuild the war-stricken Marawi City, AboitizPower subsidiaries Davao Light and Power Co. and Cotabato Light and Power Co. recently donated much-needed electrical supplies to one of its partners in the area.
Last February 21, 2018, AboitizPower gave electrical supplies worth P3.7 million to the Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LASURECO), whose coverage includes Marawi City.
“We hope that through this donation, we will be able to help hasten the power restoration works in Marawi City. It was indeed a humble opportunity for us to extend help to rebuild Marawi,” Engineer Mark Valencia, Davao Light Vice President for Engineering, said during the ceremonial turnover held at the Task Force Bangon Marawi Field Office in Mahogany Hills, Ilagan City.
The donated supplies include distribution transformers, poles, wires, and other electrical hardware.
Also present during the turnover were Undersecretary Falconi V. Millar, secretary general of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC); Task Force Bangon Marawi Chairman Sec. Eduardo D. del Rosario; National Electrification Administration (NEA) Acting Director Ramon Carlos O. Florese; LASURECO paralegal Omikhalsom Maruhom; LASUREO Executive Secretary Atty. Mhyra Jane M. Abbas; and Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) Vice President for Government Relations Christopher M. Camba.
