Aboitiz donates 50 brand new computer units to Mindanao public schools

STUDENTS of a far-flung elementary school in Zamboanga Sibugay were among the recipients of 50 brand-new computer sets donated by Mindanao electric cooperatives in cooperation with Aboitiz Power Corporation and Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI).The computer donation, which included desks, chairs and printers, were separately turned over to the New Sagay Elementary School in Zamboanga Sibugay, Tikalaan National High School in Bukidnon and Mulu and Muluan Elementary School in Mercedes, Zamboanga City, Piñan Central School in Zamboanga del Norte and the JH Cerilles State College in San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur last September and this month.Each school received 10 brand-new computer sets and accompanying tables and chairs. Each school got one printer.AboitizPower and AFI partnered with the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (ZAMCELCO), Zamboanga Del Sur II Electric Cooperative (ZAMSURECO-2), Zamboanga Del Sur I Electric Cooperative (ZAMSURECO-1), Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative (ZANECO) and Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative (BUSECO) for the computer donation project.Former ZAMSURECO-2 board of director president, Mr. Ralph Albano, expressed his gratitude during the turnover ceremony, saying the computer donation is the first assistance of its kind extended to the New Sagay Elementary School, which is located at least eight kilometers from the national.AboitizPower and AFI, together with representatives from ZAMCELCO, Department of Education, and local government units also handed over 10 computer units to Mulu Muluan Elementary School in Mercedes, Zamboanga City.Officials of beneficiary schools thanked donors for the computer sets, which will allow students to have hands-on computer lessons. The recipients were all very grateful to the support of AboitizPower and AFI, which expressed commitment to help communities build a better future for the next generation through quality education.At the Tikalaan National High School in Bukidnon, BUSECO also extended assistance in fixing the electrical installation of the school’s computer units.
