The FIRST BATCH of the college students who received full scholarship from AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) last 2011 graduated with the degree of Electronics Engineering from their respective universities last April.
Four scholars graduated with the five-year engineering course at Laguna State Polytechnic University in San Pablo City, while the other one at Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa, Manila campus.
“Being an APRI Scholar is not just an opportunity, but an honor. Thank you very much. Please continue in helping Filipino youth to achieve their dreams”, Antonette Alcantara, one of the APRI scholars shared.
The graduates are now reviewing for the upcoming board exams and are looking forward to being employed in the near future.
“In APRI, education remains a priority among CSR programs. More than half of our annual CSR budget through Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. goes to education to further enrich the public education in our host communities," said APRI President and COO Lino Bernardo.
Aside from college scholarships, APRI has also been providing financial assistance to elementary, high school, and Technical-Vocational (Tech-Voc) students from its host communities, together with the construction and repairing of classrooms to support the country’s public education system.
Since 2011, APRI, which has operations in Tiwi, Albay and Makban, Laguna, has already helped a total of 245 students who graduated from high school, college, and technical-vocational (tech-voc).
At present, APRI is sharing optimism with its 290 scholars, 137 special science (Grade 1 and 2), 88 high school, 44 college and 21 tech-voc, helping them to become closer to their dreams of a better future.
APRI, an AboitizPower subsidiary remains true to its commitment of social responsibility and good corporate citizenship to its host communities by implementing projects with long-term benefits towards the improvement of the quality of the lives of the Filipino people.
