The drill scenario revolves around the occurrence of an earthquake generated along Sinsuat Avenue, Cotabato City that is widely felt in Cotabato Light & Power Company.
The activity highlights the capability of both the national and local governments in responding to emergency situations specifically in the management of the incident command system (ICS), the evacuation of the affected populace, with focus on not just Cotabato Light employees but also to women, children, elderly and persons with disabilities and in the provisioning of medical assistance.
The objective of the drill is to improve the skills and capability of response agencies and the reaction of the public to natural disasters. When buzzer alarms resembling fire or earthquake, employees and customers did the right procedure by ducking, cover and getting under heavy furniture like desk or table, establish a buddy-buddy system and identifying nearest exits and evacuation area. MAINTAINcomposure.
Drills and exercises are part of the government’s continuing efforts in enhancing preparedness and awareness through participative City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) advocacy.
