Supporting education for over three decades now, Hedcor has another success story of its college scholarship program. Often times, one cannot survive college alone, financial means remain the greatest hurdle for many.This is also true with Bernalyn Sunien, a lass from Bakun who graduated top of her class in Saint Louis University School of Engineering and Architecture batch 2015. After five years of schooling, she now practices as a licensed Electrical Engineer in the very company that supported her studies.“Scholarship is always a combination of a lot of hard work and determination,” says Bernalyn. Contrary to the common notion, as a scholar you have to prove that you are deserving of that post.Hedcor absorbed Bernalyn to its Electrical Team after passing her licensure in the same year. Scholars are welcome should they wish to be part of the company after graduation.“I am enjoying the learning and the company of experts.” Bernalyn has also has something to say to the present scholars of Hedcor, “Treat your studies as the most important thing, because that dictates what you want for your future.”The scholarship aims to defray the cost of college education for deserving students from the host communities which includes full payment of tuition, monthly allowance and books until they finish their degree.Education plays a major role in Hedcor's quest for A Better Future. The bulk of Hedcor’s corporate social responsibility programs are allocated in furthering education. It centers on building school buildings, technical-vocational schools, scholarships and teacher skills trainings for public school systems.
