Home Newsroom Corporate Social ResponsibilityCoal Business Unit supports seven schools for Brigada Eskwela 2019
June 24, 2019
More than 100 volunteers from the facilities of the AboitizPower-Coal Business Unit across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao joined the annual Brigada Eskwela organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) this month.
Therma Luzon, Inc. (TLI) in Pagbilao, Quezon, supported Pateros Elementary School and Kapitan Eddie Reyes Integrated School in Taguig by repainting armchairs, covering books, gardening, and mural painting last May 18, 2019.
Team members from Pagbilao also participated through classroom repainting, minor repair works on pathways, and general cleaning in Polo South Elementary School last May 24, 2019.
Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI) in Toledo City, Cebu, showed its support by mobilizing its team members as volunteers in securing and beautifying the premises of Bato Elementary School and Fulgencio Dolino Elementary School through classroom repainting, perimeter fence repair and repainting, gardening, and welding, among others last May 18, 2019.
Meanwhile in Davao, Therma South, Inc. (TSI) joined hands to create vegetable gardens and helped to construct a fence for Binugao Central Elementary School and Binugao National High School last May 25, 2019.
“The continuous support you give to our schools give our students the chance of obtaining a better future. Because of your support to Brigada Eskwela, our students can focus on their students as soon they come back to school instead of having to worry about sprucing up the campus,” said David Concepcion, Binugao Central Elementary School Principal.
Held annually, Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide program of DepEd that aims to bring together various education stakeholders to actively help public schools around the country through voluntary work.
