The Philippines, in September 2012, joined Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam in adopting the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). The main objectives of the ACGS, which is funded by the Asian Development Bank, is to rank ASEAN publicly-listed companies and raise corporate governance standards and practices of those companies. Pursuant to the ACGS, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission, in coordination with the Institute of Corporate Directors, is holding an ACGS evaluation run for publicly-listed companies scheduled in May 2013.
