Teaching is without doubt a rewarding career for those who have aspirations to make a difference by educating people.

For Angeline "Angie" Quiatchon, however, teaching means so much more than the lessons taught inside a classroom. Recognizing her essential role in preparing the young to become productive members of society in the future, 30-ye ar-old Teacher Angie of Bitin Elementary School in Laguna, has made learning more engaging, hence more meaningful, for her students.

Teacher Angie was among the participants of AboitizPower subsidiary AP Renewables, Inc.

's (APRI) pioneering "Read-to-Succeed" program, an initiative to hone the skills of teachers in creative storytelling. "Read-to-Succeed" was launched in 2017, wherein 48 Grades 1-3 teachers from APRI's host schools in Laguna, Batangas, and Albay, were trained.

While Teacher Angie loves writing, she has not fully realized this passion of hers until she became part of the "Read-to-Succeed" program."I used to write stories when I was a kid, but growing up, I got so busy doing other things that I had to set writing aside. But after undergoing the 'Read-to-Succeed' training of APRI, my passion for writing was rekindled. I started writing again," Teacher Angie said.The objective of the "Read-to-Succeed" program is to help teachers make lessons more interesting for students by transforming existing learning materials into creative stories. But Teacher Angie went out of her way to take this already innovative effort to the next level. Since her involvement in the program, she has already written her own stories, one of which even won in the Laguna-wide story writing contest for teachers in 2017.APRI Corporate Services Head Noemi Sebastian said that Teacher Angie and all the other "Read-to-Succeed" partners are an inspiration for APRI and AboitizPower in continuously advancing business and communities."We are truly humbled by the likes of Teacher Angie who never cease to find ways of helping improve the lives of others. This inspires us even more to be the neighbor of choice of the communities we serve," Sebastian said.Seeing how her students respond to her creative stories and teaching style, Teacher Angie has become all the more excited to go to school every day.
