Hedcor has continued to deliver on its corporate social responsibilities to barangay Banengbeng in the municipality of Sablan through a series of projects this first half of 2015.

Hedcor team leaders and team members joined in the annual assembly of Banengbeng as it turned over computer sets, water dispensers and water tanks to the community headed by Barangay Chairman James Rafael.

“The turn over today signified the unfailing support of Hedcor to our barangay” says Chairman Rafael. He also encouraged the residents to take good care of the equipment provided.

The water dispensers will be given to Ebbes Elementary School of Banengbeng for use of the pupils this school year. The water tanks and the computer sets are to be set-up in the barangay hall for use by the general public.

Hedcor is also conducting free computer training for the barangay officials of Banengbeng in order for the barangay council to promptly cater to the documentary requests of the residents.

Sablan Mayor Arthur Baldo said that Hedcor is a partner of choice in development of the municipality. “Through their efforts, two buildings of child day care center in Barangay Banangan were rehabilitated.  Last June 4, they also turned-over a refurbished carpentry shop to the Sablan National High School.”

“Let’s be open-minded to developments as these will not only benefit us but also the younger generation,” Mayor Baldo encouraged the residents.

Aside from the turn over, the company recently finished over 350,000 pesos worth of roadside riprap works in the barangay.

Throughout the years of its operation in Sablan, Hedcor partnered with the municipality in promoting education, environment and enterprise development through medical missions, college scholarships, skills trainings, rehabilitation of day care centers, construction of police outpost and roadside ripraps and canals.

The municipality of Sablan is the home of the 8 megawatt Ampohaw hydropower plant of Hedcor, supplying the National Power Corporation and the Benguet Electric Cooperative through its connection point in Kamug, Sablan. In the year 2000, Ampohaw hydro received a Certification for Quality Management from the International Organization for Standardization, making it the first mini-hydro in the country to earn such award.
