AboitizPower subsidiary gives e.lab to Tisa high school in Cebu

The lack of equipment for technical-vocational classes is one of the challenges faced by the Department of Education in the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

To address this and in fulfillment of its commitment to advance business and communities, the Visayan Electric Co., Inc. together with Aboitiz Foundation Inc. turned over a refurbished electrical laboratory or e.lab to Tisa National High School last August 13.

As their counterpart to the project, the school used its own funds to purchase equipment for the laboratory. The refurbished e.lab will make learning a better experience for the 80 Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) students of the school.

“I challenge the teachers and students of Tisa National High School to fully utilize this electrical laboratory,” said VECO COO Anton Mari Perdices.

Cebu City Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Bianito A. Dagatan, accepted Perdices’ challenge and lead the EIM students of Tisa National High School in the pledge to make use of the laboratory to enhance their learning experience.

In 2014, VECO also donated welding and culinary equipment and refurbished the culinary and welding rooms of Don Carlos A. Gothong National High School.
