AboitizPower subsidiaries AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI), SN Aboitiz Power – Magat, Inc. (SNAP-Magat), and STEAG State Power, Inc. (STEAG Power) were presented with the 2014 Corporate Safety and Health Excellence Award to recognize their exemplary occupational health and safety performance from November 1, 2013 to October 31, 2014.The Safety and Health Association of the Philippines Energy Sector, Inc. (SHAPES), together with the Department of Energy (DOE), awarded the APRI MakBan and Tiwi Geothermal Power Plants, SNAP-Magat Hydroelectric Power Plant, and STEAG Power Coal-fired Power Plant for having one million man hours of no-lost time incidents in the course of the said period. The awarding ceremony was held during the 10th Energy Safety and Health Conference at the DOE AVR, Energy Center, Taguig City last December 16, 2014.Moreover, several AboitizPower safety professionals and practitioners were also recognized for being instrumental in achieving a safe working environment through their expertise.APRI EHS Manager Ronald Ambrocio; Safety Supervisor Dennis Azarcon; Safety Specialist Walfredo Mariano; Safety Technician Leo Eranzo; Nurse Feliciana Barlizo; SNAP-Magat Safety, Health, Environment and Security Sr. Specialist Cesar Vicente; Safety, Health, Environment, Security and Quality Manager Eliseo Ingles; and STEAG State EHS Manager Francisco Libao were given individual 2014 SHAPES Outstanding Safety Professional Awards for contributing to safe power plant operations.AboitizPower Generation Group Chief Operating Officer Emmanuel Rubio shared, “These awards exhibit our promise to deliver reliable and responsible power supply by complying with safety standards and implementing safety practices to protect our people and host communities and to ensure that our plants operate safely and smoothly.”AboitizPower's commitment to a better future for its employees, the environment, and its host communities is demonstrated through insistence on worker safety and efficient plant operations.
