PAGBILAO, QUEZON - Therma Luzon, Inc. (TLI), an AboitizPower wholly owned subsidiary, recently donated health and emergency response equipment to Barangays Ilayang Polo and Ibabang in Pagbilao, Quezon, to help enable 20 barangay health workers (BHWs) and two midwives in providing quality health services to the communities.The donation of the equipment is part of the TLI’s Bantay Kalusugan program and support package with the Municipality of Pagbilao. Earlier this year, the BHWs of Barangays Ilayang Polo and Ibabang Polo underwent a training on effective delivery of primary health care.Last June, TLI CSR Manager Edwin Cuartero and Pagbilao Municipal Health Officer Dr. Nathaniel Merene led the turnover of the equipment to Barangay Ilayang Polo.During the turnover program, Municipal Head Nurse Evelyn Isaguirre and Midwife Lorna Merjudio demonstrated the basic use of the equipment to BHWs and some regular patients of the barangay health center, including a pregnant woman, two elderlies, and several adult residents.“Barangay Ilayang Polo is very fortunate to receive these important tools. I am looking forward to the full use of these equipment,” said Dr. Merene.Ilayang Polo Barangay Chairman Roosevelt Pedreňa received and acknowledged the big help of the equipment, and promised to take care and provide other necessary things for the complete usage of the equipment.Midwife Lorna Merjudio said, “The equipment, especially the Doppler fetal pulse detector, is an important and useful tool in providing healthcare to our pregnant women.”TLI remains true to its commitment of social responsibility and building good corporate citizenship by providing tools for a healthy and safe living toward a better future of its host communities. ###
