MORE than 300 students of Sibulan National High School can now hone their cooking talents using the brand new cookery tools donated by Hedcor to the school’s technical vocational course on commercial cooking.The donation is part of Hedcor’s efforts to provide sustainable livelihood to its host communities.Sibulan National High School teachers have been unable to give hands-on lessons to the 320 commercial cooking course students due to lack of cooking implements. With Hedcor’s help, the teachers are now able to better train students so that they can easily find jobs after completing the course.“I could not measure the happiness I felt the moment I arrived here and saw all these equipment that will help our students become skilled and productive in the future. I am very thankful to Aboitiz Foundation and Hedcor for giving the school with so much support,” said Nancy Iyog, supervisor of the Department of Education Sta. Cruz North District.Ms. Marcela A. Sacay, school principal, said that the teachers plan to share their knowledge on cooking to the community using the donated equipment to also improve the livelihood of the residents.Aside from the cooking tools, Hedcor also upgraded the school’s laboratory.This is the third year of implementation of Hedcor Sibulan’s Sibulan National High School TecVoc Project. During the first and second year, Hedcor donated health, wellness and beauty care facilities, and electrical tools and equipment, respectively.
