DepEd recognizes sustainable stakeholder partnership with AboitizPower subsidiary

Ensuring access to, promoting equity in, and improving the quality of basic education is the ultimate responsibility of the Department of Education (DepEd).

But this goal isn’t easy to achieve without stakeholders and partners in the implementation of various activities such as the annual Brigada Eskwela.

Brigada Eskwela, the modern bayanihan and balikatan, has been both a challenge and opportunity for collaboration.

In the recently held caravan in San Carlos City, with the theme “Commitment to Excellence: Gearing Partners to Make a Tangible Difference in the Lives of Our Filipino Learners,” DepEd conducted a roadshow on the Adopt-a-School Program, showcased a gallery walk exhibit, and recognized its stakeholders for the successful implementation of Brigada Eskwela 2018.

“Our partnership with the private sector is supported by laws and we acknowledge any and all assistance provided by our partners,” DepEd Undersecretary Tonisito M.C. Umali said in his keynote speech.

San Carlos Sun Power Inc. (SacaSun), which has been implementing various corporate social responsibility programs in the locality since 2016, was among the recipients of the certificate of recognition for its invaluable contribution to the attainment of the vision and mission of DepEd San Carlos City Division.

Aside from the Brigada Eskwela, SacaSun also implements a Back-to-School program, which provides elementary students in Barangay Punao schools with complete sets of school supplies and hygiene kits.
