Cotabato Light repairs, replaces school’s electrical lines

Deed of donation with DEP Ed, Barangay and School OfficialsCOTABATO CITY – Implementing its corporate social responsibility, the Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light), in partnership with Pilot Provincial Science and Technology High School (PPSTHS) in Cotabato City rewired the school’s electrical wirings.Substandard electrical lines of the entire school, including its 26 classrooms were repaired and replaced to help prevent fire incident, according to Ms. Anna Lea Lee L. Nataño, Human Resource / Reputation Enhancement Department Head.Rewiring works were undertaken by ARKIPOWERLINE Construction Services managed by Engr. Aris Love Guiani.With a total repair costs of P400,000, the Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated through the Cotabato Light provided 70 percent of the cost (P278,000) while 30 percent (P115,200) was the school’s counterpart.The school is located in Datu Mama sa Buayan, Tamontaka I, Cotabato City.Ms. Nataño said Cotabato Light has always been active in “giving back” to the community through its Corporate Social Responsibility, especially on Education.The firm takes pride in the Aboitiz Foundation's mission of “Helping People Help Themselves.”On Monday, March 14, 2016, the project was turned over to school officials in the presence of Shcool Principal Bai Isradean Sinsuat Datukan, Department of Education representative Rasul Ali, Village Councilor Pasawilan and Cotabato Light employees Michelle Pavillar – Prudente, Arlene Valdez – Hepiga and Engr. Frederick Carlon.PPSTHS is lucky to be the second recipient of the rewiring project in the franchise area of Cotabato Light.  Last year, Canizares National High School, also in Cotabato City, was recipient of similar project.Cotabato Light, being in the electricity business, primarily aims to help these schools prevent fire from faulty electrical wiring.  A total of 841 students from PPSTHS and its school teachers and administrators were all beneficiaries of the rewiring project.This year, the Cotabato Light had in its pipeline similar projects with special focus on general safety and education.
