August 03, 2016

AP Renewables, Inc (APRI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AboitizPower, formally launched its School Governance Capability Building Project for the benefit of public schools in Laguna and Batangas.

The School Governance Capability Building Project aims to help 12 public schools formulate their respective School Improvement Plans (SIPs). The SIP, a requirement of the Department of Education among all public schools, is a three-year education development roadmap of various school interventions.

“This program is a testament of APRI’s solid commitment to support public education through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives,” said APRI President and COO Felino Bernardo. He adds, “The goal of this program is to help PTAs and school heads in our host communities to have a smooth working relationship that will enable them to provide quality education to our youth.

The beneficiaries will undergo a series of workshops to be facilitated by the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) – Laguna that will focus on Strategy Formulation, Leadership Empowerment, and Team Building.

“This APRI program is new for us and I believe that it will help us in managing our schools. I know that we will not be left behind anymore through this program,” said Ms. Aloha Arboleda, Principal of Sta. Elementary School.

The beneficiaries include Limao, Mahabang Parang, Tamlong, Bitin, Sta. Elena, San Felix, San Jose, Sto. Tomas South Central and San Vicente Elementary Schools, and Bitin, San Jose and San Pedro National High Schools.
