More students and teachers are being provided with the tools and havens for learning as AboitizPower continuously delivers shared-value to its stakeholders by partnering with various customers in developing and providing relevant education programs for a Better World.Last October 12, a 1-storey, 2-classroom AGAPP Kindergarten school building was turned over to Ofrecino T. Santos Elementary School in General Santos City, in partnership with South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative (SOCOTECO II), a contract customer of Therma Marine and Therma South.Meanwhile, with the objective of providing effective learning tools for the students and teachers, AboitizPower donated thin client computer systems to Alonguinsan Central School through the help of the Cebu III Electric Cooperative (CEBECO III) in Cebu, and Vito National High School in Sagay City in partnership with Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) and Cansilayan National High School in cooperation with Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) in Murcia both in Negros Occidental last October. In line with the AboitizPower’s goal to help energize the nation and build a reliable and conducive learning environment, 20 public schools benefited from its Rewiring Project through the help of CEBECO III, awarded during the ceremonial turnover last October 17.During the turnover, CEBECO III General Manager Joemoy Fortich shared, “AboitizPower will definitely be the future supplier and partner of CEBECO III. We thank AboitizPower and the Aboitiz Foundation for partnering with us in building greater improvements in our communities through the CSR programs.”Partnering for a better education is one of the major focus areas of the AboitizPower’s CSR programs, not just with the existing customer areas but also to areas where the group is expected to have presence brought by the expansion of projects. For instance, the Toledo Coal Project has helped open opportunities for Visayas communities. Through this, AboitizPower’s CSR footprint is now reaching various areas in Negros, Leyte, Bohol, Iloilo and Panay through the efforts of the team members from AP Energy Sales. With the business growth bringing more CSR projects and customer partnerships, AboitizPower will remain true to its commitment of social responsibility and good corporate citizenship to the Filipino people.
